TGIF, Today I’m take you guys to an event which held at Mondo restaurant , Hilton Sukhumvit Hotel. This event is Chivas And Cigar Night ,pairing 3 different kinds of Chivas with fantastic food.
Chivas Regal 12 ปีมีสีเหลืองอำพันที่สวยงามอบอุ่น กลิ่นหอมหวานเหมือนประหนึ่งน้ำผึ้งและกลิ่นเปรี้ยมสดชื่นจากแอปเปิ้ลและลูกแพร์
Chivas Regal 12 yrs has a beautiful warm amber color. Its wonderful aroma includes honey sweetness, and fruitiness like apple and pear. The taste is honey sweetness and apple on the palate. Its finish also has rich and lingering sweetness and fruitiness.
The first course was cured citrus salmon avocado orange and fennel salad paired with Chivas Regal 12 yrs. Fresh with vegetables went well with marinated salmon, There was some sweetness from honey and salad dressing. It was light but got along well with Chivas Regal 12 yrs.
The wonderful first course was followed by Crackling pork leg roast, mashed potatoes paired with Chivas Regal Extra.
This Chivas has an extra red color together with tropical fruity , vanilla, ,ginger and toffeenut aroma. Similar to the previous Chivas, it has a rich taste but the influence of ex-sherry cask makes it richer and generous. Its finish obviously last longer than previous Chivas.
Due to its strong flavor, it goes well with red meat like this Thai style crunchy pork leg.
The last course was Pan roasted Australian Angus Striploin 270 day steak served with avocado-wasabi lime coriander. The beef was cooked to perfection with medium rare and went well with avocado and little wasabi in Japanese sytle ,Tataki . Personally, this is my favourite menu for the night because of its juiciness and its rich flavor combined with Chevas Regal Mizunara. The Mizunara Chivas is a Scottish tributes to Japanese discernment. This Chivas is an exclusive signature whiskey , blending the whiskey in rare and unique Mizunara oak casks resulting a unique spiciness. This Chivas is only available in Thailand and Japan in Asia. Influenced by oak cask, its color is gold amber , The aroma consists of orange ,pear, honey, hazelnut, toffee sweetness and Mizunara spice. Its lingering taste is a wonderful combination of charming honey sweetness and Mizunara spice.
This event also introduces cigar bar where people can smoke outside the restaurant. There is wide range of cigars for the beginner as well as advanced smokers.
Also,I talked with a cigar expert and he suggested that I try one cigar for beginners because I have never had an experience with cigar before. The outdoor atmosphere is not too hot, so we can sip our favorite.
